The guys of Rifftrax are at it again. This time, they’re spoofing the 1962 fantasy adventure, “Jack the Giant Killer.” The special event airs tonight, August 17, at 8:00p.m. at Cinemark 14 in Chico. Tickets can be purchased at Fathomevents.com, Cinemark.com or at the box office. Tickets are $11.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors and $9.50 for children.
Never heard of Rifftrax before? Here’s what they do. The original stars of “Mystery Science Theater 3000” take just about any movie, play it and make fun of it while the movie is going. Normally, people would find this annoying if watching a movie in a regular theater. But, since you know this is going to happen, and there are times where the movie is awful beyond belief, it’s actually very welcoming and very funny.
“Jack the Giant Killer” tells the story of a farm boy turned knight named Jack (Kerwin Mathews) who must protect a wizard from the evil hands of a wizard named Pendragon (Torin Thatcher).
Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett are ready for riffing and you better be ready for some roll on the floor laughing. “Rifftrax Live: Jack the Giant Killer” plays tonight and only tonight at Cinemark 14, located on East Avenue in the North Valley Plaza in Chico.
