When the Rescue Mediums realized that a spirit had attached itself to a Brampton (northwest of Toronto), Ontario family’s daughter, they decided to take action.
“You need to know how to control it rather than it controlling you,” Jackie said adding that she believed the teen had a spirit attachment (possession).
As the teen sat on a chair in her bedroom, the mediums performed a spirit detachment using psychic energy to draw the entity out of her. Jackie became the ghost’s temporary host. Both mediums complained of feeling sick and flushed. After the girl left the room, Jackie noted the names Ben and Robert.
Allison said she had difficulty breathing and Jackie had a vision of a man running through a water soaked graveyard, his feet covered with mud. She added that the “entire town was covered” in water. As she watched, the man fell down into the mud.
“I heard him say, ‘All I want to do is go home.’”
At that point, the mediums sensed the presence of a female spirit who arrived to take the man to the light.
The Rescue Mediums then sat down with the homeowners to reveal their findings. Jackie noted that John and Margaret Watson once, who once lived at that location, had seven children, including Benjamin and Robert. They originally came from Scotland and Ben was born in 1830.
“He was very involved with Ebenezer Baptist Church,” she said adding that all of his relatives were buried in the church’s graveyard. Because the church was nearby and the family had passed it so many times, Ben saw Jyoti’s ‘light’ and was drawn to it.
Ben, who was a black man, was the one who possessed the girl. He was so distraught because the cemetery and the graves were covered in water. Jackie produced a newspaper article written about flash flooding across Brampton in 1857.
“Ben was so dedicated to preserving the family plots that he lingered” after death, she said adding that he died on March 17, 1914. He died of medical complications associated with a fractured leg and the family’s youngest daughter said she often had pain in her one leg.
On a final note, Jackie said Ben’s wife’s name was Janet (nee Clark), both names that the mediums had prior premonitions about.
And on an interesting note, the drawing of the Indian man was not explained.
