Everyone loves to get a good deal but it’s just so much better when it’s free. Who can resist that temptation? One of the great things about Grand Rapids is that we have a local group that puts on what’s called a Really Really Free Market. This is where you bring things that you are ready to pass on or your special skills like massage, crafts or repairs of some kind. When you bring your “stuff” you offer it to people for free. You can bring “stuff” and not take anything else or you can take what you need or want. Most of the skills offerings are in the form of bartering. Or you can just be kind and offer whatever you like.
This market will take place at Martin Luther King Park from noon until 5 pm on September 4th. Food not Bombs will be there with some free food to make this an even more attractive event. You can bring stuff to drop off before 4 pm but no later. When the event is over they are left with all the items that were not taken so it’s always nice when people offer help to box things up and take to donation centers. If you don’t have anything to offer you can still come and look for something you might need or want. You really never know what you might find.
