Orlando, Fla. – Casey Anthony was acquitted this week by a jury of her peers for the murder of her toddler daughter, Caylee Anthony, 2. Many expressed shock and dismay over the verdict, relaying the belief that Casey was guilty of killing the little girl. Renowned country band Rascal Flatts has penned a song for the little girl entitled ‘She’s Going Places,’ which was played on Nancy Grace’s HLN show Friday, regarding Caylee’s hopes, dreams and senseless death.
‘Too young for her life to be taken, she’s going places’ says the song, co-written by Gary LeVox. The tune continues, ‘Just a baby barely two-years-old. A story that shouldn’t have to be told. See that little girl with big brown eyes. Stole our hearts and touched our lives…’

Prosecutors alleged Casey murdered Caylee in the summer of 2008 using chloroform and duct tape, while her defense attorneys argued the girl’s death resulted from an accidental drowning. From the juror’s verdict, it can only be presumed they believed the defense’s theory was more plausible.
Casey is slated to walk free on July 17, 2011.
