The annual Art Fair at Queeny Park will be held this weekend, September 2nd through 4th, 2011. Over 100 artists will gather in the Greensfelder Recreation Complex to show off their handmade arts and crafts designs. Shoppers will find beautiful and unique pieces of art that include glassware, jewelry, ceramics, wood carvings, sculpture, paintings, photography and even the more modern, digital art.
Parents are invited to bring their children along as the Greater St. Louis Art Association, which sponsors the art festival, encourages kids to get involved in art from an early age. On Sunday, kids will have a chance to participate in interactive activities just for them. The Children’s Art Discovery activities will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and during this time kids will have a chance to win an art project bag to take home.
The art fair takes place on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Prize drawings will be held on both weekend days. Admission is only $5 and you can save one dollar per person by getting your coupon online. For more information about the festival, call 314-889-0433. The Art Fair at Queeny Park is a fun way to spend the weekend in St. Louis and the perfect place to find original artwork for yourself or to give as gifts this fall.
