“For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.” -Psalm 18:28
It’s important to know that in a world on the warpath to remove God from society and replace it with its own “moral teachings”…that God is still there for us.
What’s going on in the world is not because God is not there, but because the world has left God. They have gone their own way. And as soon as things go wrong, they have nowhere to turn. But the light is still there.
As scripture points out he lights our candle, makes it shine bright. How do we know we’re supposed to shine?
“14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”
So we see here the value and importance that Jesus Christ puts on our light and what we should do with it. Christians, this is huge. This light inside of us, through the power of our God can’t help but shine.
Trouble on the job? “the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness”.
Trouble with your marriage? “the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness”.
Trouble with drugs? “the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness”.
Trouble wiht porn? “the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness”.
He brings light to all darkness, and helps us get back on his path.
David wrote thes Psalms with a need for the Lord in mind. Therefore, from his example we should be praying for God to come into our lives with urgency and need, not because you want something. We have a job to do. We cannot let the distractions of this world and their policies of “church and state” get in the way of our ministries and the ministry of Jesus Christ. The moment that happens, they will win. And God’s word and world, will be silent. I for one will not go silent into the night knowing they are out to win, and neither should you. We know how this story ends, and I want to know that I’ve done everything I can possibly do to make sure the word of God remains visible to those that may be looking for him. So don’t lose faith.
