Forecast Discussion: A warm front has moved well north of Rhode Island. However, we may see some showers and thunderstorms into the early morning, as a cold front moves through. Some thunderstorms may give heavy downpours, causing local street flooding. Also, patchy fog will develop along the shoreline, due to high dew point temperatures. As we move through the morning, the cold front will move offshore, and we will see sunny skies this afternoon. Temperatures will rise to near 90 inland, but a light sea breeze will keep state beaches in the lower 80’s. High pressure will bring another hot day tomorrow, before moving into the Atlantic. A weak cold front from Canada may trigger some showers and thunderstorms for late Monday afternoon and evening. Good weather returns for Tuesday, before another cold front brings possible precipitation Wednesday night into Thursday. The computer models are disagreeing on the timing of the front, as some models feel thunderstorms will occur on Thursday. I’ll continue to watch the models over the weekend, and update you on any changes to the forecast tomorrow.
