For Monday, July 25th 2011 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Switched at Birth (ABC Family, 9pm) – “Pandora’s Box” – Or maybe this should be called “Pandora’s Guitar Case.” After all, Daphne (Katie Leclerc) learned that her mother (Constance Marie) really did know about Bay (Vanessa Marano) for years and years. And she kept the secret, presumably to protect both girls but that’s not how the girls see it. Suddenly they are even more deeply bonded…with the Kennishes. Betrayal can bring people closer together than anything else, we guess. Also Emmett (Sean Berdy) and Bay grow closer, too.
The Closer (TNT, 9pm) – “To Serve with Love” – Adam Arkin guest stars when Flynn and Provenza plunge into yet another ill-fated adventure trying to make a quick buck. They agree to work for a lawyer serving court papers, but unfortunately the man they serve ends up dead only moments later.
Weeds (SHO, 10pm) – “Fingers Only Meat Banquet” – Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) needs to get back to California as fast as possible to take on the custody battle for Stevie, so Silas (Hunter Parrish) lends a hand. Meanwhile, Shane (Alexander Gould) actually gives college a try, Doug (Kevin Nealon) learns what his new company is really up to; and Andy (Justin Kirk) may have gotten in over his head with his new artist lady friend (guest star Lindsay Sloane). But it is the blast from the past that comes at the end that holds the greatest promise.
Rizzoli & Isles (TNT, 10pm) – “Sailor Man” – It’s Fleet Week in Boston but unfortunately one young sailor is using the celebration to his advantage: picking up women, raping them, and leaving them for dead. But with Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) on the case, she may uncover things about the perp that aren’t exactly what they seem. Meanwhile, Maura (Sasha Alexander) goes out with the Rizzolis’ mechanic (guest star Matthew Del Negro), but when he gets too clingy, the women have to think on their feet to let him down gently.
The Big C (SHO, 10:30pm) – “Cats and Dogs” – Paul (Oliver Platt) gets laid off, leaving Cathy (Laura Linney) to worry about their finances. But don’t you worry: this show isn’t going to turn all Breaking Bad on us! Instead, she just pawns her jewelry with a little help from her new friend (Hugh Dancy). Adam (Gabriel Basso) gets in trouble after getting caught in a compromising position (well, that was fast!), and Sean (John Benjamin Hickey) shows off his homemade, eco-friendly baby sling to some moms at the local park.
What will you watch??
