Spanish plays, historical plays, original plays, all of which can be found at Hanover College during its 2011-2012 season.
During the season, Hanover College will present four main productions, including: Two Plays of a Spanish Golden Age (October), Cryptos (November), Three Poets (February), Vinegar Tom (March), and plays from the playwriting and directing classes (March-April). All shows will go on in Parker Auditorium at Hanover College, loceated at 484 Ball Drive near Hanover, IN.
Hanover College will begin its season with Two Plays of the Spanish Golden Age, featuring the comedy The Marvelous Puppet Show and the love and revenge story of Life Is a Dream. These plays will be performed in October.
Coming in December is Cryptos, a play from Hanover senior Wylder. The show deals with two monster hunters attempting to find the Wolf of Heaven, who may be taking children from an isolated Iowa town.
The new year will bring the works of Romulus Linney called Three Poets. The lives and impact of three women poets in different times can be seen when the short plays open in February.
Wrapping up the major performances for the 2011-2012 season will be Vinegar Tom. Caryl Churchill exposes the 17th Century plight of women accused of witchcraft, which may or may not have been true. This production runs in March.
In March and April, Hanover will present productions that involves its directing and playwriting students.
