A forum to help NGOs adapt their fundraising campaigns to the post-pandemic period


The Digital Fundraising HUB (DFH), a forum of conferences and workshops for third sector professionals organized by the Spanish Fundraising Association (AEFr), will celebrate its second edition on 6 and 7 October. The event, developed in online format, will present the latest trends in fundraising and digital economy for workers of non-governmental organizations.

According to Fernando Morón, managing director of the AEFr, many non-profit organizations, NGOs and foundations have had to adapt their fundraising strategies after the pandemic, now focused on the digital environment. “Hence, the importance of the second edition of the Digital Fundraising Hub, which aims to become a space in which professionals in the Third Sector can share experiences and knowledge with experts in digital marketing and digital fundraising so that they can implement them in their organizations,” says Morón.

The Spanish Fundraising Association is made up of 126 organizations, including the Red Cross, Caritas, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, Unicef, Fundació Sant Joan de Deu, WWF, José Carreras Foundation, Manos Unidas, Oxfam Intermón and Educo.

The first day will analyse the influence of social networks on consumer behaviour, with a session led by José Luis Zimmermann, head of Public Policy for Spain and Portugal at Facebook. The event, sponsored by Banco Santander and the collaboration of Adigital, Grupo Miracom and Rebold, will also organize a workshop on the use of TikTok to create new audiences and raise funds, which will feature Nana Crawford, manager of Social Networks of the British Red Cross.

As for the second day’s sessions, Damon Crepin-Burr, Global Strategy Director at ISPD Network, will explain how they can work NGOs in the new digital era. Later, Silvia Riera and Aida Vinyes, from Doctors Without Borders, will talk about how to generate web models and strategies to improve the user experience. Sergi Pallarés, co-founder and CEO of StockCrowd, will give a session on formulas for obtaining income through virtual events.

Sara Martínez de Frutos, CEO of dgtl Fundraising, and Fernando Guerrero, Head of Partners at SEO/Birdlife, will show attendees the process of creating the digital fundraising program they designed for the environmental organization.

Finally, Agustín Tartari, Project Leader of Médecins Sans Frontières, and Toni Matas, CEO of Persualia, will discuss the challenges and opportunities of instant messaging fundraising in Spain.
