Thirteen injured in an explosion at a chemical waste company in Tarragona


Thirteen people have been injured this Friday due to an explosion during a fire in the parking lot of a chemical waste treatment company in an industrial area of L’Arboç (Tarragona).

The firefighters of Catalonia have reported through their Twitter account that the fire affects five trucks, according to initial information.

The Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) have reported through their official Twitter account that three of these people are in serious condition due to burns, so they will be transferred to the Hospital Vall d’Hebron, nine have minor injuries, and one is receiving medical assessment. In addition, they have warned that 10 ground units, two medical helicopters and three logistics units have been activated.
