We present the magazine number 32 of elDiario.es: ‘Mexico, esdrújulo y volcánico’, in a virtual meeting that will take place next Thursday, July 1st from 19.00h. The meeting will be broadcasted from this link and through the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Twitch. If you want to be notified when we start, sign up for free here.
In the year in which we celebrate the bicentenary of Mexico’s independence and also the five hundredth anniversary of the arrival of Hernán Cortés to these lands, elDiario.es dedicates its quarterly monograph to Mexico. A beautiful, diverse, colourful, powerful, cultured and generous country, but also violent, dark, unequal and disturbing.
To delve into its culture and learn about the problems of today and the opportunities for the future of this great country, we brought together several people who are able to show us what Mexico is like. To talk about it we invited Eileen Truax, Jorge F. Hernández, Mateo García Elizondo, Aura García-Junco, Ernesto Núñez Albarrán, Marcela Turati and Gabriela Warkentin. The conversation with our guests, who also write for this publication, will be moderated by Gumersindo Lafuente, deputy director of elDiario.es. If you still don’t have the magazine and want to receive it, become a member/associate with an annual subscription before July 11 and we will send the magazine to your home.
At the end of the meeting, we will reserve a space for questions from our readers in order to have a joint and participative conversation. What would you ask our guests? What are the topics that interest you most about Mexico? If you have already read the magazine, let us know what you thought in the comments section and take the opportunity to send us your questions or curiosities.
Come back to see it!
