In ‘Paisajes del vino’, an initiative of elDiario.es to support small wine producers, artisans and farmers who respect the land and the environment, we recommend a variety of wines from small artisan wineries in different areas of Spain.

From time to time we search and carefully select the wines from a winery, a landscape of vineyards characteristic of our environment, we tell you its history and also, we put it at your disposal so you can buy and enjoy them with 3 options of boxes to choose from.

This route began in the Sierra de Gredos with Bodegas Bernabeleva and continues through the Galician Ribeira Sacra by the hand of Bodegas Algueira, you are still in time to buy this selection of wines here.

In addition to this route of wineries, we have also prepared a varied box of different artisanal wines that, as a whole, will make you travel to places that emanate a unique flavor. It is the ‘VinoDiario’ box and, as a novelty, we announce a new delivery that you can receive at home in less than a week. Selected wines in the first edition of ‘VinoDiario’.

Mayorazgo Oak

It is a wine elaborated from red wine vines, around 40 years old, planted in the village of Gumiel de Mercado, in Burgos. An area characterized by its clay soils with a clay base.lcárea. Mayorazgo is a Ribera aged for 5 months in barrel that seeks to show the more accessible side of the region. The aim of the producers is to escape from the excesses of the area through subtle extractions, using neutral barrels, to obtain a friendlier but sincere face of the region.

Artuke

The De Miguel family has been involved in winegrowing in the village of Baños del Ebro for several generations. For some years now, they have been trying to find and recover abandoned vineyards and are doing an extraordinary job of restoration. Artuke, their flagship wine, comes from old vineyards located around Baños del Ebro, on predominantly limestone soils. It is a wine made from Tempranillo, with carbonic maceration. A traditional and historical elaboration in La Rioja. Artuke is a light and easy to drink wine that can be an aperitif or a perfect accompaniment to any meal.

Castro de Valtuille Joven

This is the family winery of the legendary winemaker Raúl Pérez, as well as the place where he learned his trade. Today it is his nephew César Márquez who is in charge of the winery, although Raúl is still present in the final blends. With a history dating back to 1752, it is one of the region’s historic wineries. Castro de Valtuille Joven has to be one of the wines with the best value for money in our country. Made from vines over 85 years of mencía coming from 352 small plots spread over 17 different areas of Valtuille. The wine undergoes a brief ageing in foudre.

Gaba do Xil Godello

Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza first visited the Valdeorras region in 2002. Soon after they began working with local winegrowers and today they work 23 hectares of vineyards on the dramatic slopes that make up the landscape of this area of Valdeorras, on the terraces of the Bibei river. Gaba do Xil is a serious Godello, from a continental climate with an Atlantic influence that gives it a perfect balance between freshness and ripeness.

Clos Lojen

Founded in 2006, Bodegas Ponce is the project of Juan Antonio Ponce and his family in Manchuela, a fundamental project to know this region. La Manchuela is recognized since 2000 and is located between the provinces of Cuenca and Albacete, occupying 70 municipalities.

The grape with which the wine is made is the bobal. An almost forgotten grape, which in the hands of Juan Antonio has taken on a new life. Clos Lojen is made from around 50 year old bobal vines planted on calcareous clay soils. The wine undergoes a brief ageing process in a 5,000 litre foudre. The result is a fruity and refined wine that manages to be both accessible and profound at the same time. Their plot wines are some of the best examples of this variety.

Canicas

Produced in Viña Cartín, it aims to be a perfect introduction to the wines of the Salnés area. The aim of this project is to produce fun and carefree wines, but with a careful elaboration that wants to put within everyone’s reach a respectful and representative albariño of the area. The wine comes from different vineyards, which are vinified in stainless steel tanks where it remains for 8 months in contact with its lees.
