Magic Outfit is the name of the project by Ana Tajadura-Jiménez, professor and researcher at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Through wearable technology, it aims to address certain health conditions that have to do with negative perceptions of our body.
In her multidisciplinary research, Ana brings together different fields. On the one hand, cognitive neuroscience, on the other hand, human-computer interaction and finally, the computational part in which she works with sensory and movement signals.
How does it do it? Through the experiences of body transformation. Human beings have a perception of their body that sometimes does not match reality. This perception has to do with the sensory signals of our brain. The technology used by Ana and her team manipulates these sensory signals in order to improve these negative perceptions of our body and therefore improve our health.
80% of people have some aspect of their body with which they are dissatisfied, the goal of this project is that all of them feel better about their physical appearance and be happier.
