When you combine passion, beauty, talent and badass desire to be the best of the best you get Piper Rudich.
The Fort Myers native is considered amongst the most talented artists in the industry. She has worked under the tutelage of some of the best in the nation, including the world famous Doc Dog from Las Vegas Tattoo in Ybor City, Tampa and local masters such as the Needful Things crew.
Since early in life, Rudich knew what she wanted to do. ‘I remember being a little kid and seeing bikers with tattoos all over them and I always thought it was cool. I wanted to be like that. I remember my mom telling me that bad guys and bikers were the only people with tattoos, however I knew I was going to get some!’ – remembers the artist with humor.
Currently, she has thirty-eight tattoos in her body. Her naturally beautiful face is framed by phenomenal designs including a ‘bomb’ by professional tattoo master Mike Parsons.
Rudich’s theory of life is simple, yet ambitious. She wants to rule the tattoo world one phenomenal creation at a time. Her amazing drawing ability and portrait design have placed this rebel hearted woman amongst the most sought after tattoo artists of South West Florida. This multitalented lady has participated in fine art exhibitions as well such as daas Gallery’s collective ‘Surreal Window’ in July of 2009 and her own solo exhibition entitled ‘Use Once and Destroy’ displayed in September of 2010.
Just 33 years old, she owns Art & Soul Tattoo and Gallery in Fort Myers, Florida and plans to open a new location soon in another city. She states that it has not always been easy. Her climb to the top has been difficult and sometimes disappointing. She feels that there is a lack of collaboration amongst the local artists, especially because of her gender. ‘Some [tattoo artists] hate that I am a girl with such a good reputation’ – adds Rudich.
Her fierceness and search for perfection are remarkably noticeable in her detailed work. In only twelve years, Rudich has reached a level of mastery that amazes even the experts in the community. There is a lot more coming from this Fort Myers daughter as she keeps reaching her goals and gaining ground with her impressive talents.
