Dr. Michael Roizen, M.D. and Mehmet Oz, M.D., columnists in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, wrote 7-16-11, questioning the findings of an omega-3 study claiming that there is a link between omega-3 and aggressive prostate cancer. After significant medical research, scientific advances, and studying nutrition for thousands (?) of years, it seems amazing we still can’t as a society agree on the basic ideal nutrition to nourish and advance the high functioning of our bodies.
I believe, the food we eat not only has the ability to nourish our body, affecting our health, but also has an impact on the energy level we vibrate or exist at. It seems obvious that, knowing we were created by God, in God’s image, with the hope of continuous soul growth, that we should be able to maintain our bodies with the natural foods around us. All other species exist successfully with the natural food around them, if humans or environmental causes have not eliminated their food supply.
We use advances in industry and science to deviate from natural products, filling our bodies with chemically laden foods and beverages; believing that we are somehow nourishing ourselves. One hundred years ago, there were no chemically laden foods in existence for the average person to consume. The advancement of modern technology however, has created food additives, preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, and chemicals as an integral part of most American’s daily diets. Furthermore, to combat the problems triggered by these additives, we consume vast amounts of vitamins, and supplements to reduce the risk of other ailments and diseases.
Often times we get too close to a “problem” to see it clearly. This seems to be the circumstance with the basic food we consume. Our modern advances, I believe, have clouded our vision, media has influenced us, and we often blindly consume a diet that will be detrimental to our physical and spiritual well-being.
Our bodies were created to withstand considerable abuse and still function. However when we look at the major illnesses from the 1940’s before preprocessed foods, hormonally injected animals (which are also inhumanely treated,) strip farming processes, and a dramatic increase in fast food, and examine the illnesses from today; we find a significant rise in cancer, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, autism, etc. Furthermore, in the past 25 years, most schools have seen a significant increase in children with: Food allergies, autism, ADD or ADHD, and learning disabilities.
When we are appreciative of the food that we consume, that we have grown or purchased and prepared, we change our attitude and vibration of the fueling of our body. Food that has been prepared with love, that is chemical free, nourishes us, satisfies us, and when eaten as a blessing, fills us up. The energy of love we create in life, whether given in thought, deed, or is consumed, is accepted into our bodies with a raised energy level. It is with this higher energy that additionally enables us to grow and advance on a spiritual level more successfully.
