A La Carte Brunch Options Designed For Locals and Families
Have you been to Piñon Grill yet? It’s the cool “New American Dining” venue at Boca’s Town Center Mall, in the back Terrace (next to Blue Martini). I love their take on the “American melting pot” of cuisine, kicked up a few culinary notches with some innovative twists, along with the cool bar area, and homemade desserts (try the White Chocolate Bread Pudding!). It’s one of “Go-To” places for a business lunch, happy hour cocktails, or dinner date — and now, Sunday Brunch.
Piñon Grill has introduced a new family-friendly Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The new Brunch menu ($11 to $18) emphasizes both traditional and unique flavors, from fresh squeezed fruit juices ($4) and Fresh Fruit Crepes filled with light crème fraiche cheese filling and fresh fruit ($11), to new offerings like Pigs in a Blanket on a Stick ($12), and outrageous Country Sausages on a Stick, hand-dipped in homemade blueberry pancake batter and fried crisp!
The “Make Your Own” Skillet Scrambler ($12) is a favorite, allowing you to custom-design your own 3-egg (or egg white) scramble, with distinctive fillings like beef brisket, Gulf shrimp, pulled chicken, fresh vegetables (asparagus, spinach, onions, red pepper, mushrooms), and a variety of cheeses. The classic Smoked Salmon Platter ($14), with chopped egg, red onion, capers, tomato and chive cream cheese on a bagel, is of course a big seller in Boca. On a nostalgic note, try the Buttermilk Silver Dollar Pancakes and Eggs ($12). The dinner Crab Cakes appear on the Brunch menu as well, in the form of Crab Benedict ($16), with two mini crab cakes served on fresh-baked biscuits, topped with poached eggs, finished with a hollandaise sauce and served with asparagus and home fried potatoes. And for the ultimate “breakfast-which-is-more-like-a-dessert” indulgence, go for the signature Thick Cut French Toast ($12), a marvelous rendition featuring thick brioche bread dipped in French toast batter and rolled granola, griddled to a golden brown, and sprinkled with strawberries blueberries and bananas, THEN topped with bacon and served with a side of syrup! (Whew!).
