The Pasadena Symphony and POPS summer season kicked off on Saturday, June 18 with a fireworks and a multimedia presentation to celebrate Pasadena’s 125th Anniversary with guest conductor Michael Krajewsi. Performing on the grassy area next to the Rose Bowl, the fireworks extravaganza provided an intimate performance of the symphony orchestra with some back and forth participation from the audience.
The venue provided both table seating, as well as space for lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show. For people who plan in advance, catered meals were offered for pick-up at the venue. Or, people were welcome to bring their own baskets of goodies. Also, available was a cash bar, which was serving some of the most amazing Italian hot chocolate! The gates opened at 5:30pm for pre-concert dining, the two-act concert began at 7:30pm, with a 15 minute intermission.
Although the extravaganza has already taken place, the POPS Summer Series continues through the end of August. Tickets are available by mail, phone, fax, or online. This is a program that is accessible to all ages, and can be good for families or an early evening date.
