Oprah Winfrey ended her regular one-hour show on regular television last May after having been on the air for 25 years. Since then, reruns have been airing.
In October Rosie O’Donnell will begin taping her show in Oprah’s studio in the West Loop in Chicago. She will be using Oprah staff while Oprah herself will be hundreds of miles away in Los Angeles.
Some Richmond, Virginia fans watch OWN on Channel 161; however, they have seen very little of Oprah because she has been on hiatus since May.
It has been reported that Winfrey’s channel which went live in January, has struggled to build ratings despite hundreds of millions of dollars spent on programming and promotion. However, Oprah has just officially begun to work there as the CEO relieving Christina Norman.
Oprah tweeted a statement and a picture of her in her office on her first day as CEO of OWN in LA. Her office is very modest considering the fact that she is a billionaire.
