Seattle firefighter Erik Lawyer who is also the founder and inspirational visionary behind One: The Event, which will take place on 9/11 at Seattle’s Memorial Field and the University of Washington met with the planning team yesterday (August 30) to begin finalizing details of the free three-day event. The group of two dozen was briefed on plans for what is scheduled to be a massive gathering that will be live streamed globally. Following the cultural trend of concern for our planet and a shift from a fear-based society, one man took up the call.
Erik Lawyer considers himself to be a regular guy who (like so many) gained a new perspective on September 11, 2001. Lawyer says that he realized that hate and separation will not change our world for the better so he set out on a personal journey of discovery and transformation. Like so many of us who are jolted to some sense of awakening by a seemingly “tragic event,” Lawyer decided make something viewed as positive out of something society believes was a tragedy. Lawyer recently said,
“The vision for “ONE The Event” was inspired by my personal shift from fear to love. When I choose love not only do I see the best qualities in me, and those around me, but more loving and passionate people just show up in my life. The power of choosing love is also exemplified by the creation of this event. The organic growth of this event will show the power of humanity when people choose love together, and the beauty of humanity in harmony. I clearly see that this planet is ready for a shift from fear to love. I know there are many people all around the globe, just like you and me that are ready and excited to make this happen.”
His vision will manifest in a few days on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 when the One, The Event Team attempts to create a Global Synchronized Moment of Love, reaching global networks and people all over the world in a shared intent to Make the Shift from Fear to Love which will be free to all. This seems like a huge task, but they have enrolled some big name speakers to participate in their effort. Among those speaking and providing entertainment are Lindsay Wagner, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Ocean Robbins, James Twyman and James O’Dea.
This could be a groundbreaking event, well worth attending if you are in Seattle and viewing live one the web. For more information or to find out how you can become involved click here or go to their website www.onetheevent.org.
May we all realize that, as Erik Lawyer and Buckminster Fuller have proved, one person can make a huge difference on our tiny Spaceship Earth. And may we all soon realize that we are a single species on the brink of extinction, so it’s everybody or nobody in the game of life on Earth.
