The Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Wayde’s World Hawaii will have it’s next Hike and group meet up for “Hikes For Homes” on Saturday July 23RD at Mariners Ridge. at 9 a.m.
The purpose of this group is to provide a fun and healthy environment where shelter dogs can meet and mingle with the public.
We hope this exposure will move to adopt one of the shelter dog and save a… life. Oahu SPCA core volunteers select up to 10 shelter dogs for each hike. They accompany the dogs as their handlers and monitor their behavior. We will be taking our dogs on the Mariners Ridge Trail which is a Moderate 3 mile child and dog friendly hike. Please wear your hiking boots, bring plenty of water and snacks for yourself and your dogs and children. Several Guides will be with us so there will be several groups hiking.
Please don’t worry about your pace on this hike, Wayde will be sweeping the group and will wait for all those going at their own pace.
Oahu SPCA is a no kill animal shelter located in Kapolei. The Oahu SPCA is funded through private donations and grants. Each month the SPCA rescue, rehabilitate and re-home approximately 60 abused, abandoned or neglected animals.
