In case you don’t get enough with Survivor: South Pacific this upcoming Fall TV season, you can get an additional fix of Survivor on “The Amazing Race”….the new cast of AR, announced today, will feature the likes of former Survivor winners Ethan Zohn (Survivor: Africa & All-Stars) & Jenna Morasca (Amazon & All-Stars.)
Ethan was a very popular winner of Survivor: Africa, the 3rd season of the show, and Jenna was the flirtatious yet brilliant social player from Survivor: The Amazon, the show’s 6 season. Both Ethan and Jenna appeared on Survivor: All-Stars and have been dating since after Jenna’s season. Neither of them won Survivor: All-Stars, with Jenna memorably leaving to be with her dying mother. Ethan did last longer than any of the returning winners, finishing in 11th.
Undoubtedly though, Ethan’s battle with a rare type of Hodgkin’s lymphoma outside of the game, is his crowning achievement, along with his charitable work since Survivor. He has been in remission since 2010, and continues to raise awareness for the disease, and his experiences in his season of Africa (along with his prize winnings) led him to create “Grassroots Soccer,” a soccer-based charitable organization raising awareness and educating children about HIV and AIDS. Along with Jenna, they both also recently appeared naked in an add for PETA, in their “I’d Rather Go Naked, Than Wear Fur” campaign.
“The Amazing Race” premieres on CBS on September 25th, a good 11 days after the premiere of “Survivor: South Pacific” on September 14th.
