The New releases for this Tuesday August 2, 2011 are headlined by a pair of high profile films. Rio and Soul Surfer lead the charge as the top potential purchases that hit the shelves of Baltiomore video stores this week. Soul Surfer (Anna Sophia Robb, Helen Hunt, and Dennis Quaid) is the movie that is based on the fantastic true story of Bethany Hamilton, a 13-yr-old girl who loses her arm in a shark attack but overcomes the tremendous catastrophe as well as other obstacles to realize her dream and become a professional surfer. The movie is a great family friendly story that will touch your heart.
Rio (Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway) is jam packed with a star studded voice and is the animated story of Blu, a flightless Macaw, who is returned to the wild to mate as he is the last male of his species. Along the way, Rio encounters a number of aspects that cause him to rise to the occasion and come out of his shell as begins to realize his place in the world. Rio is another family friendly tale that will entertain the entire family. Both films are worthy additions the your DVD collection.
In addition to the pair of headline movie that are being released this week, there are a number of direct to DVD movies that may warrant purchasing. Here’s a few that you may want to check out:
