Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans will most likely see very little work from the New Orleans Saints starters, if any at all. That essentially means that any type of lingering injuries will be given a full week to recover and heal up before the season opener against the Green Bay Packers on September 8, 2011.
At Tuesday’s practice, there were a total of 14 Saints not participating but it isn’t guaranteed that all of them are actually dealing with an injury. Coach Sean Payton has gotten into midseason form by not giving forth a lot of information regarding some players sitting out and injuries.
- RB Chris Ivory – sports hernia
- DE Greg Romeus – right knee
- DT Tom Johnson – left calf
- DT Aubrayo Franklin – right knee
- K Garrett Hartley – hip
- LB Clint Ingram – right hamstring
- WR Joe Morgan – knee
- WR Lance Moore – groin
Other players sitting out Tuesday’s practice:
- QB Chase Daniel
- RB Pierre Thomas
- S Malcolm Jenkins
- S Paul Oliver
- DE Cameron Jordan
