Phoenix experienced the largest networking event of the year as NetworkingPhoenix.com held its 10th Signature Event, spearheaded by the CEO and Founder of NetworkingPhoenix.com, Gelie Akhenblit, this past Monday, August 29 at the Talking Sticks Resort.
Businesses, professionals, entrepreneurs, job seekers, and many others participated in this grand occasion for one reason, network! It was a three hour splendor with many people handing out business cards, connecting with one another and building collaboration efforts. No matter what you were there for, you were bound to meet someone to form a great connection.
I had two purposes at the NetworkingPhoenix.com 10th Signature Event; review the signature event and write featured articles for each of the two businesses that appealed to me from the event. I have yet to pick out the top two businesses that I want to feature, as many of them were highly impressive, but I will contact that business and let them know in advance. So, stay tuned for those featured articles.
As with many of my reviews, I like to highlight my thoughts in a bulleted format. Also, as an added bonus, I included my video blog, which you can click here to view it or watch it from the left side panel, from the event to give you a visual aid.
- SCALE: 2,000 people came, networked and walked away with meaningful connections. Watch my video blog, located in the left side panel to get a sense of the sheer scope of people that were there. If large crowds are not your thing, then this event will not cater to you, but the opportunities to gain new partnerships, collaboration works, and referrals works in your benefit.
- ORGANIZATION: Even though the crowd was a bit overwhelming for some or right at home for others, the level of organization of the event was amazing. I had no qualms in where I needed to go to check-in; volunteers at the event were more than helpful and friendly as they ease your way into the grand ball room. Table exhibitors were well placed and highly visible. My only small criticism was the VIP area for Networking Passport members. I envisioned that the VIP area would be located in a separate room but it was located in the dead center of the ball room, which made weaving in and out of heavy traffic between the edge of the VIP area and table exhibitors difficult, especially with 2,000 people.
- ATMOSPHERE: I had this thought in the back of my mind that this would be a fact paced, get to the point, New York hustle and bustle style of event but contrary to my own belief, it did not feel that way at all. What about the people Ralphiee? There were over 2,000 people there! Yes, I know where you are coming from, but the table exhibitors, individuals, entrepreneurs, and professionals that I talked to at the event, did not have that “selling” attitude. There were there to converse and build a connection, and being a conversationalist that I am, I definitely got that vibe. Obviously you are going to get that one person who is just there to hand out business cards and just walk away but it was something that was far and in between.
- RECOMMENDATION: Gelie is one of the premiere networkers in the valley and rightfully so. If you missed out on Monday night’s splendor, don’t fret because NetworkingPhoenix.com has four signature events within the year. This was my first event and was highly impressed with the way it turned out. Furthermore, NetworkingPhoenix.com is a website dedicated to listing out all the networking events from around the valley in one neat calendar. I suggest you sign up and become a NetworkingPhoenix.com member to find and schedule your next networking event. However, let me be clear as NetworkingPhoenix.com does NOT host all of the events listed on the calendar, only listed for your convenience. This is not a recommendation of sorts, this is something you need to check out if you are about the networking scene, and NetworkingPhoenix.com does more way impressive things, than none, to help you get connected.
Couple more things before I end my review; make sure to watch my video blog from the event as an added bonus to this review. If you went to the 10th Signature event, leave a comment below and let me know what your thoughts are, and lastly, I will personally contact the top two businesses that were appealing to me from the event and each write a featured article about them on my joltleft.com profile, so make sure you subscribe to my profile to stay updated.
