With another season almost upon us and an unbelievable amount of offseason shuffling and free agent signings, let’s just say expectations for the new look Miami Dolphins are high. Like Ricky Williams on 4/20 high. It is desperate times for Jeff Ireland and being a long time fan of the franchise and having seen the likes of Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcels fail to bring the team a Super Bowl appearance, I’m a little skeptical that he and new head coach Joe Philbin can turn this thing around.
So let’s focus on the positives of new uniforms and young QB Ryan Tannehill. Yes, it’s a bit cry-babyish to mention that Andrew Luck, RG3 and Russell Wilson all took their respective teams to the playoffs and Tannehill did not, but for a “project” quarterback he did show promise. His play coupled with a new logo and somewhat streamlined, minimalist uniform has added a much needed freshness to an otherwise stagnant organization.
