Mercury in Virgo, Retrograde During August

July 30, 2011

Mercury has moved into his own sign Virgo. Generally this is very good for all hands-on projects. Gardening, housekeeping, services, volunteer work and business organization are all favored. But soon you will have to temporarily change course. Many people I’ve spoken to this week have said that they are confused, disorganized and can’t concentrate. Even me. There is a lack of motivation, a feeling of standing still and you can’t move forward even though you know you should. Upon checking the planets I found that Mercury is slowing down, stationing and the energy is changing. That sure came up quick. Mercury will go retrograde on August 2. When this happens it affects our mental processes and our ability to organize and communicate. If you have Mercury retrograde in your birth chart (as I do) you will really notice when Mercury goes retrograde, as he does three times a year. But Mercury retrograde people actually have a built-in ability to use the retrograde energy well. They are more comfortable with it.

During the next three to four weeks, you may want to set up your schedule differently. Things may not go as planned and for a good reason. You can meet with colleagues, discuss old issues left on the back burner and do some brainstorming but don’t make any big decisions. It’s a time to stay behind the scenes and do preparation work. Remember to put off signing any documents until this period is past. You may run late or get lost on the way to places. Give yourself plenty of time. Have a sense of humor and don’t stress yourself out. Whatever is on your mind now may turn out to not be important in the greater scheme of things. Virgos should be alert and flexible and so should Leos, since Mercury moves back into Leo until September. Leos aren’t flexible to begin with so it will be harder for them! Don’t worry. Life will get back to normal by August 27.

Look for the August forecast coming soon at Celestial Navigation, Delmarva Almanac, which has a beautiful brand new look! I encourage everyone to read Robert Wilkinson’s articles about the New Moon in Leo at Aquarius Papers. Reminder: For a wide variety of specialty foods, produce and fresh meats for your summer barbecue check out the Market Basket in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Visit their new boutique, Cose Belle for wedding invitations and lovely gift items. Treat yourself! As always, feel free to leave a comment below.
