Meet the cast of Basketball Wives LA.
Gloria Govan appeared in a few episodes of the original Basketball Wives series. She rubbed some of the Miami ladies the wrong way by proclaiming that her relationship with fiance Matt Barnes was different and perhaps better than what they had gone through with their exes and soon-to-be exes. Later, she had a major run in with Shaunie regarding her sister’s affair with Shaquille O’neal. Gloria didn’t have to endure the wrath of the women for too long when she and Matt relocated to the West coast. She now has a new pack of friends. She and Matt remain unmarried.
Laura Govan is Gloria’s older sister and the mother of 4 children with NBA baller Gilbert Arenas. Arenas who reportedly abandoned Laura and their kids lost a court case shortly before BBW LA premiered. He apparently doesn’t want to deal with the drama because he shut his twitter account down just before the show aired.
Kimsha Artest is a mother of 3 and “partner” to long-time NBA player Ron Artest. Kimsha isn’t into LA vibe of botox, boob jobs and Rodeo drive. Kimsha may not win over fans for her style or blingy-ness, but she will win them over for her around the way girl vibe. She keeps it real.
Imani Showalter is a mother of 3 and the ex-fiance of Stephen Jackson. She used to be a singer and is currently looking for what makes her happy again.
Malaysia Pargo is the mother of twins and wife of Jannero Pargo. She is originally from Compton and is definitely the show’s biggest glamour girl.
Jackie Christie is the mother of 3 and wife of Doug Christie. She is no stranger to the spotlight after years of media harrassment regarding her strong marriage. Jackie tells it like it is and makes no apologies.
Draya Michele is the “groupie/jumpoff” of the show. Known for dating several players and being a former stripper Draya says she knows she has a lot of haters.
Tanya Williams is a last minute addition to the show and from the looks of the first episode she may not last. Tanya’s prim and proper ways just don’t seem to mix with the tell-it-like-it-is style of most of the wives.
