Love or hate? Hate may yell, but love is louder. Some people proclaim, ‘can’t we all just get along?’ There is nothing wrong with the message, but maybe the method of delivering it needs to change. The more voices that join the movement, the louder the message becomes that Love is louder.
The Love is Louder organization was founded by Britney Snow. the JED foundation, and MTV to build on the outpouring of support online after the lives of multiple teenagers were lost to suicide in 2010. This movement strives to amplify the momentum of other inspiring online campaigns and invite anyone who has felt mistreated, misunderstood or isolated into the conversation. They are here to raise the volume around a critical message — that love and support is more powerful than the external and internal voices that bring us down, cause us pain and make us feel hopeless.
This movement is powerful and shares that love is louder! The media informs us daily about the terrible experiences of so many teens and pre-teens who are victims of bullying, dating abuse, sexual assault, or drug abuse. Now, not later, now is the time for people to join in the movement to help stop these horrible things from stealing away the lives of our children. The children are the future. Future leaders, future politiicans, future presidents, future teachers and future parents. Through spreading the message that ‘Love is Louder’ we demonstrate that we care about their futures.
Anyone can raise the volume on the Love is Louder movement by joining in the conversation on Facebook and Twitter, or by uploading a brief video (30 seconds or less) at http://your.mtv.com – telling the world what they believe love is louder than. Make sure to tag your video with loveislouder.
