It can be tough to find like-minded freethinkers or even religious people who are accepting of people of other faiths when you are looking to have enriching discussions about deep issues. In the Colorado Springs area there is an organization that fosters these connections in the name of learning for the fun of it. The PILLAR Institute has about a thousand members in the greater Springs area and they have an event calendar chock full of engagements guaranteed to stimulate conversation and critical thinking skills.
A good place to start in the PILLAR catalog to get the most out of your search for other freethinkers would be the Philosophical Café meetings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There is quite an overlap of membership in those meetings with that of other Springs area groups such as the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs. The Philosophical Café meetings are $2 for non-members, open to the public, and welcoming to people of all ages.
