You’re looking at the only weekly column that will give you all the details to the live shows of the urban variety happening in the Puget Sound. Juice Radio’s music director, D-Money, has compiled all the shows he has heard of that are professional and are happening this week. This week things get super packed for Labor Day Weekend with shows from Mac Lethal, Janet Jackson, Jean Grae, $krilla, Dirtay and Mike “G” and M.A.R., Young Jeezy, Emeralds Magazine, Neema, Lil Wayne, Vanice, and the annual Bumbershoot festival. Mac Lethal from the Rhymesayers will be at Studio Seven for an all ages show beginning at 8pm with Sadistik, T11, Sarx, and JV the Kidd as part of his nationwide tour from 8-11pm. Tickets are $8 in advance from the artists or venue and $10 at the door.

“Global Heat” goes down at the Hard Rock Cafe with a full night of hip-hop soul, funk and world beat music spiced with break dancing. The night will feature performances from Soul Shifters, Suntonio Bandanaz, and Black Stax from 8-midnite only for 21+ for $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Jean Grae will be coming to Skybox Sports Lounge for “WTF is a Femcee” starting at 8pm along with Dice, live backing band by Piece, and DJ Len proving the music in between. Hosting will be Miss Casey Carter and it’ $10 at the door to get in.
The Back 2 School Fundraiser will be held at El Perron for the 21+ starting at 9pm for only $5 or free entry with donation of school supplies, clothing, footwear, or anything else that will help a child be successful in the upcoming school year. There will also be performances from $krilla, Archie Bellz, Illizm, Dough Kain, host Lost Soul the E-Mo Kat, and DJ Screwball on the tables.
Dirtay & Mike “G” & M.A.R. will present “The Return” at El Corazon with hosting by Tak Patron and performances from Diggz Dime, Speedy the Artist, Prophet, G Khan, Guap Fam, and Vennum. DJ Kutt will be spinning, doors are at 9pm, show at 10pm, and it’s for the 21+. Pre-sale tickets are $7 through the artists involved and are $10 at the door.

Emeralds Magazine will be celebrating their new distribution deal with their Sept/Oct issue starting at 9pm at the Hard Rock Cafe. At this event don’t miss performances from Swift Tongues, Rocky Sandoval, Davey Jones, Caitlin Cardier, Bosten Black, Cruzita Carrillo, David Dillard, Mark Adams, the Trackaholiqs, DJ Peg on the tables, and the backing of live band, the Ancient Robotz and The Circus. Bumbershoot, Seattle’s music & arts festival will take place Saturday through Monday showcasing music of many genres, performing arts/dance, words and ideas, theater, visual arts, and spectacle for all ages at all venues and exhibition areas! Bumbershoot Day 2 will feature Sol on the Fountain Lawn Stage from noon-1pm. The Fisher Green Stage will host Mad Rad from 2:15-3:15pm and Das Racist from 5:45-6:45pm. Finally, it goes down at the Key Arena with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis from 8-9pm and Wiz Khalifa from 9:30-10:45pm.
