LBS: A Burger Joint gives meat lovers a great place to get together for juicy patties of tender beef. Whether you decide to choose from one of their featured burgers or try their beef sliders, you can’t go wrong with their juicy burger selections. The meat, which is dry-aged for 21 days and cooked to your liking, is selected by their in-house butcher and ground fresh daily.
LBS specializes in gourmet burgers and most of their menu items are made in-house. The “LBS Burgers” ($9.75 – $13.75) section of the menu features selections like the Plain Jane, the Classic, Bacon & Eggs, the Caprese, the El Caliente, and others. LBS’ Perfect Burger ($13.75) lives up to its name. The Perfect Burger is topped with herb mayo, frissée, oven-roasted tomato, smoked bacon, Gruyère cheese, LBS Burger Sauce and a red-onion marmalade. The LBS Burger Sauce is a version of ketchup with a sweet barbecue sauce finish. Burgers are served with their shoestring french fries.
LBS also offers onion rings or sweet potato fries to accompany the burgers. You can start your meal with several options of deep-fried munchies including Fried Cheese Kurds and Zucchini Fries. The one that will keep you coming back is the Warm Sourdough Pretzel Sticks with Spicy Mustard and Cheese Fondue ($6.50). It is worth it to visit LBS just for those!!! Also try the potato twister, homemade potato chips fried to a crisp and served with fry sauce.
A selection of Mini Burgers, Salads, and Bamboozled Shakes round out the menu – and yes, if you aren’t into beef, there is also a California Chicken sandwich. Check out their website at www.lbsburger.com. The menu has recently changed and is a little different from the one posted on the website, but you will be able to get the idea!
The rustic décor at LBS is a throwback to days past – warm and inviting – a touch of Americana. With its saloon style atmosphere and red brick walls, it reminds you of a roadhouse.
LBS is owned by restaurateur Billy Richardson whose concept was a burger place whose focus was on burgers and brews. With more than 30 different beers to choose from, the handcrafted bar area is impressive, made from distressed walnut wood which is ornately carved and spans nearly 40 feet across the room.
But wait! LBS claims to be the “Home of the Extreme Burger”. What is that? According to Burger Business at: http://www.burgerbusiness.com/?p=4100 “But for that element of sequin-studded Vegas razzle dazzle, LBS owner Billy Richardson and Chef Anthony Meidenbauer created the Extreme. Six half-pound beef patties are layered with American cheese, portobello mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, spicy mustard, herb mayo, house LBS sauce and “ghost peppers” on a sweet egg bun. Accompanying this tower of burger power is a pound of hot fries. Finish it all in under an hour and LBS not only would waive the $30 price but also rename it in your honor. A pro eater, Ron “Undertaker” Koch polished it off in 28 minutes and it was renamed “The Undertaker”. Koch asked that the restaurant make the burger a bigger challenge. So now it has been nearly doubled in size to 11 patties (with more cheese, mustard, peppers etc.) and Adam Richman of Travel Channel’s “Man v. Food” program may take a shot at it when the show next films in Vegas!” Thanks for that tidbit Burger Business!
On the Red Rock Casino website LBS is described as “Rock ‘n’ Roll casual serving up the best gourmet hamburger in Las Vegas, without gourmet attitude”. Try it and see for yourself – you won’t be disappointed!
