Orlando, Fla. – As the release of Casey Anthony from the Orange County Jail draws near, her future plans are currently up in the air. Nonetheless, one of her defense attorneys believes her client has been exposed to so many legal proceedings, she may have a desire to enter the legal field. She also noted Casey has a definite passion for photography.
“She’s been exposed to the criminal justice system and I think that might be a pursuit of hers,” defense lawyer Ann Finnell told People magazine. “Whether it’s a paralegal or an advocate for social justice issues, I don’t know.”
Casey has been behind bars since Oct. 2008, arrested and charged with the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. On July 5, 2011, a jury of her peers acquitted her of the crime and on Sunday, July 17, 2011, she will walk out of jail a free woman.
The well-known defense attorney was hired on by Casey’s team to assist had the jury found Casey guilty of murder and a death sentence had been at issue.
Finnell told People Casey has been “in limbo” for the past few years. “She couldn’t plan on anything… Now she can start directing her own course.”
She added, “She [Casey] has always had a passion for that [photography] and hopefully she’ll continue with it, because she has an obvious knack for it… Those two things – she’s thinking about now but who knows what the future’s going to bring.”
Many in the media have speculated that Casey will have to go into hiding and live disguised immediately after her released due to the death threats she’s received. On Friday, her attorneys announced they received an email death threat that included a doctored photo of Casey showing her with a bullet hole in her forehead.
