An unnamed man reported filming a UFO in Texas on Sunday, August 21, 2011 after performing a local concert. He recorded the event with his iPhone and provided it to UFO Global Reporting Center for review.
The object that appears on the video shot that night has sparked some debate. At least one person maintains that the video documents nothing more than a brightly shining moon. Another viewer believes the object is actually Jupiter.
However, the man who recorded the image on his cellphone stated that the object was moving in the sky when he and another man first observed it. The bright object appears partially obscured by clouds throughout.
Furthermore, the witness claimed that the UFO shot ” . . . a laser beam of some kind.” By observing that crucial moment in the video on the left side of this page, one can see that the “laser beam” effect was most likely caused by the camera being rapidly jerked from side to side rather than from a beam of light emitting from the object itself.
Unfortunately, the laser beam claim, along with evidence that the UFO may have been nothing more than the moon or Jupiter, make this particular UFO sighting seem rather unlikely. That doesn’t necessarily mean that laser beam shooting UFOs aren’t in the skies over Texas, but this isn’t one of them.

A man caught this surprising UFO hovering over Texas city’s sky on August 21, 2011. Here is what he has to say, “I performed at a concert last night with ESG in Texas City. After the show ended, we walked outside and noticed a guy looking up. He said, “Hey this star is moving!” I immediately took out my phone and started filming. YOU WILL NOTICE AT 2:51 THE UFO SHOOTS A LASER BEAM OF SOME KIND. If you look at this on a large monitor, you can definitely tell that it is NOT A STAR OR NORMAL AIRCRAFT! This is authentic footage that I shot with my iPhone.”
