Looking for the some variety for fast food? Check out Kyoto Sushi and Grill, where one can have their craving for Japanese food filled at a fraction of the time. <<<< what are you trying to say here?
Location: Sushi Katana is located near the intersection of Alafaya Trail and University Blvd; right in front of UCF.
Ambiance: This is not a place to go for a romantic dinner, but if one has a short lunch break, it beats the local Wendy’s or McDonalds.
Menu: For such a small fast food restaurant, the menu at Kyoto Sushi is quite impressive. There’s about twenty items for appetizer/sides, about fifteen items for hibachi, a few Bento boxes, a few stir fry noodle dishes, and a wide variety of nigiri/sashimi and rolls.
Food: Although this place might not be a foodie’s paradise, it is perfect for local college students and office workers looking for a quick bite nearby. The food isn’t mind blowing, but it isn’t a crying shame either. The key to this restaurant is speed and variety. For those looking for a quick meal with a little bit of everything, the bento boxes (includes the chosen entrée with rice, California roll, soup or salad, egg roll, and a fried shumai) are a great choice. For those looking to order a large amount of food, the hibachi selection can fill that void of hunger. And of course, there’s always a good variety of sushi from which to choose. Just a head’s up, this is not the best sushi ever rolled, but still beats buying premade sushi at the supermarket, which would cost about the same. Another exciting thing about this restaurant is that they also serve bubble tea, which is a guilty pleasure for many students in the area.
Price: The prices are about the same as other contemporary fast food restaurants like Peiwei and Chipotle. Most appetizers are under $5, Bento Boxes are under $8, Hibachi items are under $8 for single items and under $10 for combos, and sushi is under $5 for nigiri/sashimi and rolls are $5 – $10.
Service: The service at Kyoto was fast and efficient. Not bad at all for fast food.
Room for Improvement: The food quality can be better. For example, the salad served was just sad. It was sitting in the dressing that was too acidic for too long and the veggies looked dead. The problem does not necessarily fall on the ingredients, just execution.
