Since the beginning of time the last days and the end has been a subject of conversation throughout the earth. False predictions through false prophets have come and gone while leaving behind followers that are distraught, bewildered, confused, broken and financially broke. In the bible Jesus talks about things that we will encounter while on the earth including false prophets. The book of Matthew specifically tells us that false prophets will appear and deceive many (Matthew 24:11).
To prevent ourselves from being a victim of false predictions and the false prophets who speak them, we must be alert, wise, knowledgeable and vigilant. This can only be achieved by knowing what the word of God has to say about such events as the end of time. This knowledge can only be achieved by reading God’s word and spending time with him in prayer.
The bible reveals unto us the mind and will of God which holds the past, future, the beginning and the end. Matthew 24:3-5 states that as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, “tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered, “watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name claiming, I am the Christ, and will deceive many. Jesus has forewarned us of things to come in his holy word but we must read and study it to be aware of those who are skilled in taking advantage of those who do not know the word of God. Hosea 4:6 says it this way,” my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
We must take time out of our busy days, schedules and lives to read God’s word and learn of things to come. There are many books on the earth but none are like the Holy Book. It holds the answers and revelations of everything we desire to know except, the day of the end. Matthew 24:36 tells us that no one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son (Jesus), but only the Father. Therefore, we are to remain watchful because we do not know on what day the Lord will come. We must be prepared to meet Jesus at all times. Now is the day of readiness because that day will close on us unexpectedly like a trap (Luke 21:34). God’s word is truth and the truth will make us free.
Repent now of your sin and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13) Be Ready! AMEN.
