The Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors (aka “KACP”) convocation, led by Bishop Walter S. Thomas, Sr., Senior Pastor of New Psalmist Baptist Church has been conferencing at the host church, New Psalmist Baptist Church located at 6020 Marian Drive, Baltimore since Wednesday, July 20th. Packed with high-energy night services and day workshops, the time of Christian fellowship has been dynamic – a call to “turn the world upside down” (Acts 17, Holy Bible). The KACP pastor membership includes Baltimore area pastors as well as pastors from other states across the country.
Bishop Thomas preached a mighty word to about 60+ pastors, ministers, lay leaders and church members from the represented churches on Wednesday. Last night’s offering of the word had the preachers standing in the aisles and in front of the altar as Bishop, Dr. Cynthia James of Cynthia James Evangelistic Ministries (http://www.cynthiajames.org/) taught us what changing the world upside down really means. One of the things Bishop James shared that the call to ministry is not about” being satisfied with a title, position or a few coins thrown your way! She also shared that when preachers preach “Jesus Christ and Him crucified, expect opposition and envy because of your zeal”.
I have sat under some great teachers and preachers in over 40 years of being a Christian and I tell you, that this woman of God is a woman of the Word – meaning she is a diligent bible student as well as a profound teacher of God’s Holy Word. I can attest, that many of us would have gladly stayed with her until the midnight hours to hear the breaking of the word of God explained and personified. The greatest story on earth is still “Jesus Christ, the Son of God who needed to suffer a cruel death and be raised again on the third day as our replacement for our sins and our reconciliation back to God the Father.” Jesus Christ’s atoning blood still saves, heals, delivers and sets free! Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forevermore.
Tonight Bishop Claude Alexander, Senior Pastor of the Park Ministries of Charlotte, NC and presiding Vice Prelate of KACP will speak this evening at 6:30 p.m. Come on out and hear the word of God and be blessed. I’ll be there!
