Kids need the opportunity to learn about and master certain basic physical skills. Traditionally these skills such as: non-locomotor (moving in place) and locomotor (traveling) skills, catching, throwing, dodging, passing, tossing, etc. have been taught in school through physical education programs. It is a known fact these skills are important and are used throughout life. Due to budget cuts in education, P.E. programs have been downsized or eliminated all together. It is now more important than ever to find opportunities for your children to learn these skills by providing movement activities at home or through local programs.
