Over the weekend, John Cena was surrounded by controversy over recent comments and actions that he took on Twitter. According to a Monday report by PWInsider.com, Cena posted a nude photo of himself, covering up a certain anatomical region. The photo was taken down a few hours later without any word from Cena. Apparently, Cena’s photo upset some within the WWE as Cena has been the face of WWE’s PG era and marketing to the kids. A nude photo definitely doesn’t help with Cena’s kid friendly image.

On Sunday, in addition to the nude photo, Cena also made some critical comments about the WWE’s lack of properly pushing Evan Bourne. When addressing rumors of his responsibility for Evan’s recent success, Cena made the following comments about Bourne via his Twitter page:
“I did not. I still think Evan hasn’t ever come close to being given an opportunity he deserves. He is unreal”
It appears that Cena has been getting “edgier” on his Twitter page as he’s been outspoken about the WWE in recent months, including last week when he ratted out the WWE for banning him from commenting on results from a live event. Additionally, Cena posting a nude photo, although popular to the female masses, is definitely a blow to his kid friendly image and could’ve potentially damaged the WWE’s marketing of him.
