July 27, 2011 – On a preview of the upcoming season premiere of Kat Von D‘s L.A. Ink, her then fiance, Jesse James, reacts at the reality star’s surprise of having his face tattooed on her body.
The preview clip shows Kat dancing around all excited as Jesse walks in to her tattoo shop so she can show him her surprise.
“I’m really nervous about giving you my surprise,” Kat said giggling uncontrollably, and later told the cameras, “I started freaking out!”
She hesitates a little and then raises her arm to show Jesse a tattoo of his face on her side ribcage when he was about 10 years old. The thing is huge.
Jesse stares at the tattoo a little dumfounded, but keeps a plastered smile on as she runs to get the original photo they used to draw the tattoo.
“We’re not finished with it yet!” Kat squeals as she shows him the photo while he says, “you’re crazy.”
But later, he says he loves it and gives her a hug and a quick kiss telling her he loves her too.

“I thought you were gonna tell me you were breaking up with me or something – just kidding!” She said, “You like it? It’s really hurting a lot.”
“You couldn’t leave the rainbow off?” Jesse says referring to a detail that was on the original image.
“I could feel it, he was just like ‘wow she’s actually doing this for me,'” Kat gushed, “he knows how much tattoos hurt.”
As has been widely reported, Kat and Jesse broke off their engagement a couple days ago, claiming the long distance between their residences became too much to keep the relationship going.
