It has been announced that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day and his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis are expecting their first child. Ellis is due in December, and you can view pictures of her and Day together at the Horrible Bosses London premiere where she is visibly pregnant. The late July premiere is the first time she has been caught on camera showing off beautiful baby bump.
“I’m excited. Who wouldn’t be excited about being a daddy? Well, maybe a 16-year-old in high school wouldn’t be excited, but a 35-year-old man like me is looking forward to something bigger than himself”, he said on Saturday at the Cowboys and Aliens premiere in San Diego, California.
Not only is Charlie Day part of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia cast, so is his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis. She portrays the reoccurring character The Waitress, who is the object of Day’s character Charlie on the show. She comes and goes on the show, and since filming has already ended for season seven of It’s Always Sunny, chances are her baby bump will go unnoticed on the show.
Day and Ellis started dating in 2004, and married on March 4, 2006. In 2011 Ellis had a short lived starring role in the half-hour NBC sitcom, Perfect Couples. The show was pretty awful, and got canceled after only two episodes. Day writes, produces and plays the role of Charlie Kelly on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This year he also had a co-starring role in the hit comedy movie Horrible Bosses.
