Amanda J Greene is a local southern california paranormal romance author. Her debut novel, Caressed by Moonlight, was released in late 2010. Since it’s release, the book has been given a new cover, re-edited, and re-released. To commemorate this re-release, Amanda J Greene has provided an interview and an updated cover picture. Here is the interview (RRNE stands for Riverside Romance Novel Examiner):
RRNE:Hey Amanda! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Amanda: “I am recently married to a wonderful military man, Robert. We live in Southern California. I am a full time student, soon to be graduating. A little personal info: I am obessessed with romance novels and cheesecake – my two favorite things!”
RRNE: What made you want to write a book?
Amanda: “I have an over active imagination and writing is my outlet. I love telling stories and sharing my creativity with others.”
RRNE: Your book is about a Vampire King. Why did you choose to write a vampire story?
Amanda: “Simple, I LOVE vampires! I fell in love with the vampire romance genre when I in middle school. The first vampire book I ever read was Companions of Night by Vivian Vande Velde and I’ve been hooked ever since.”
RRNE: What authors have inspired you?
Amanda: “I am a huge fan of Johanna Lindsey and J.R. Ward. I have read their books countless times. Lindsey’s love stories are full of passion and suspense while Ward’s characters are vivid and compelling. I hope some day I can be as great a writer as they are.”
RRNE: What is your all-time favorite book?
Amanda: “My all time favorite book is Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I rarely cry when I read a romance novel, but the first time I read Flame and the Flower, I cried three times. Woodiwiss’s ability to bring characters to life is outstanding. This book makes you feel every emotion from laughter to depression.”
RRNE: How long did it take you to write Caressed by Moonlight?
Amanda: “Caressed by Moonlight is a rewrite/more polished version of a book I originally wrote in middle school. I’m not sure how long it took me to go through it since I would work on during my spare time. However, I am currently working on the second book within the Rulers of Darkness series, Caressed by Night. I am a little more than half way done with the manuscript and it has taken me about six months. Work and school don’t leave much room for writing.”
RRNE: Are you planning to write more books in the series?/ How many books in the series do you have planned?
Amanda: “I am working on book two, Caressed by Night. At this pace, it will be finished and ready for publication in the winter. As of now, I have a total of five books planned for the Rulers of Darkness series and I have begun planning a new series and have finished a single titled book that needs some polishing and editing before it’s ready to be released.
But, like I said, work and school leave little room for writing.”
A few fun questions:
RRNE: Since you live in California, what is your favorite California theme park?
Amanda: “This is a tough question to answer. Just like every girl who grew up watching princess movies, I love Disneyland. Though, for thrills I would pick six flags, love the roller coasters!”
RRNE: Would You Rather: Have a photographic memory OR extra sensory perception (ESP)? Why?
Amanda: “I think I would rather have a photographic memory. I come from a close Italian family and I would love to be able to retain clear/photographic memories of our celebrations and gathering.”
