Her voice has been described as mysterious, magical, soothing, and angelic. Elizabeth South pours her heart into every song. Developing a true sense of her calling, Elizabeth’s work enchants the spirit. To her credits she is a talent rarely seen in today’s world. Her nationally debut album, “The Mysteries of Our Minds” released in 2010 captivated lyrics with spiritually uplifting music.
Elizabeth South’s second album is titled, “Do it Afraid”. Kicking it off with a pledge campaign to raise $5000, her enthusiasm is just the tip of her talent. In pledging, she’s involving others to be part of her team. It’s not surprising that she met her pledge goal, a few days ago, before the deadline. Yet one can still be part of this project. By pledging, you’re pre-ordering the new CD, expected release this fall.
Elizabeth shared her inspiration behind the title of this upcoming worship album. “Each of us faces personal fears every day of our lives. Many of us let it keep us from doing the things we know we should or want to do. My personal inspiration for this song, “Do it Afraid,” happened one morning when I awoke feeling fearful that I had to sing for my first CD release concert.”
While reading Joyce Meyer’s devotional, “Ending Your Day Right” Elizabeth felt a calling in her spirit.
“I definitely felt like God was speaking to me. I then sat down at the piano to write this song, which led me down the road to recording this new album and song. The devotional and song idea helped me to do what God called me to do, while I was ‘afraid’ knowing the truth that He will always be with me. Essentially, I had to “Do it Afraid!”
Now a full-time elementary school teacher, Elizabeth began singing in public at a very young age, about 7 years old. With many live performances and singing solos, along with choirs and musicals, Elizabeth is no stranger to the stage. Performing in various plays including several at North Carolina Theater, her music delivers a fresh twist of theater, spirituality, romance, and honesty not usually seen in one album. – Bio of Elizabeth South

“I am encouraged,” says Elizabeth, “when I hear from people who say my music touches them on some level. If I can take my music to the larger world, then I will feel as if I have come full circle from being that little girl who just loved to sing, to being the accomplished artist who is able to do what I was made to do.”
