Volusia and Flagler County’s two Congressional representatives voted against Senator Harry Reid’s debt ceiling plan Saturday.
Republican Representative Sandy Adams, of Florida’s 24th District, voted against the debt ceiling plan offered by Senator Harry Reid Saturday. Representative Adams also stated on her web site:
“I voted against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s plan because it fails to hold Congress accountable for its spending and it fails to address the policies that led to our nation’s massive debt. Rather than requiring a balanced budget amendment so that Washington finally lives within its means, this legislation gives a blank check to President Obama, allowing him to continue his reckless spending spree that has already led to $3.7 trillion dollars worth of debt. This bill also falls short of cutting more than it hikes, and the cuts that it does try to make include more than $1 trillion in imaginary ‘savings’ from war spending that is not written into law, has never been requested, and no one plans to spend.”
