Scrapbooking is a method usually used for preserving personal and family memories. However, there is a rather new trend to use scrapbooking in homeschooling. Whether preserving personal and family memories or using it as a homeschool teaching tool, scrapbooking albums have a lot in common. They typically include photographs, printed media, artwork and journaling.
Scrapbooking can be effectively used for any subject: English, Math, Social Studies (History), Foreign Languages, Art and Music, P.E. and Science. If you aren’t familiar with using scrapbooking in your homeschool, check out this download “Using Scrapbooks in Science.”

Not a lot of supplies are needed for this type of scrapbooking. Many homeschoolers simply use construction paper, markers, crayons, pens and pencils, and glue. However, older students usually love to go all out and use ‘typical’ scrapbooking supplies. If you live in the Littleton area and don’t have a specific store in mind to find scrapbooking supplies, here are some suggestions:
- Hobby Lobby
4887 S Wadsworth Way, Littleton
9370 South Colorado Boulevard, Littleton
- Fluff Paper
445 S. Saulsbury St., Unit H, Lakewood
