The local Church of today is a more “idyllic” twin of the past. The first experience with the “new” Church is they actually teach more than preach. Growing up in a Baptist church back in the day, you really didn’t learn a whole lot outside of Jesus died for your sins. The pastor would shout this in your face every Sunday but on the down side, that can be very confusing, especially to a young believer. You may grow with a sense, you can do whatever you want and get away with it because of what your Savior did on the cross 2000 yrs ago.
There was really no breaking down of the Word to the simpler, less-seasoned believer. The “new” Church goes into more detail of baring the real truth behind the gospel. Also, this new Church is composed of many “super churches” that reach more people by televising their program to millions of viewers. This has been a useful tool in spreading the word to people who might feel uncomfortable going into their local church for a service. “There will be an outpouring of the Spirit in the last days”, this comes straight from the Word itself and refers to the Holy Spirit taking God’s healing message where it had not been before and manifesting God’s awesome power to a broader spectrum.
The experience with this Church has been a positive one for many believers both young and old. Outside of just breaking the word down to understandable terms, this Church which is to be the bride, presented to the Lord himself when he returns with out spot or blemish, has fulfilled what the earlier Church prophesied. There are so many good things about the Church of the times that are amazing and we thank the Lord for them all! They for one, try to reach out to those who need it the most. Being not just hearer’s of the Word but doers. The members, from all walks of life and ages, go out into the community offering help and hope to a dying world. They not only tell of God’s love but they show it. This is especially true here in Nashville.
They also take a hands-on approach to helping the youth of today find peace and a true relationship with Christ through youth ministry and groups. Now, the rest of us are not left out, there are many activities now for the older crowd such as groups for the ladies and men where you can grow together as you grow in Christ. There are so many things going on now in the local church today that the early church only dreamed of doing. There is definitely more outreach now and different means of growing the church as not just a body but a family. This is what the Lord meant when he said: You have been adopted into God’s kingdom now not as slaves but as children of God, having brothers and sisters. -Amen!
