The third annual Tri-Fusion Hot Summer Nights 5k Series wrapped up last week in Spokane, Washington. The race takes place on three consecutive Wednesday nights in the month of August just off of Farwell Road near Wandermere Mall and Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar.
This year more than 220 people showed up for race number one. A week later, more than 270 participated. On the final day of the three race series, more than 320 peopled showed up to race.
The 3.1 mile course takes runners along neighborhood side roads and sidewalks making it safe for the whole family. The course is clearly marked and staffed by volunteers, who in turn receive a free race entry. The event is also chip-timed by Milliseconds with results posted on an on-site electronic kiosk within minutes of runners crossing the finish line.
The race organizers hand out more than 200 door prizes over the course of this series ranging from running gear, hats, gift cards and nutrition.
The first 300 people to show up and register on the final Wednesday received a free tech tee not to mention free Costco cookies and Rockstar energy drinks.
