Hollywood Culture is a funny thing. Sometimes you are on the A-List and invited to all the right parties, and the next week you are hoping to land a reality TV gig to be able to pay your rent money.
The Dancing With The Stars cast for Season 13 was announced August 29, 2011 during split reveal segments that aired on ABC during the reality show Bachelor Pad. Even more shocking that the news that celebrity couple Vienna and Casey were safe from elimination yet again were the names of the people expected to dance next season. Why? Because some of the choices were just downright funny.
First announced was talk show host Ricki Lake. While she rose to stardom at the age of 18 starring in the musical Hairspray, Lake says she does not have an advantage dancing over any of the other competitors.
The most shocking announcements about stars cast were Chaz Bono — the daughter turned son of Cher who claimed the competition was daunting already — and Nancy Grace (who seemed most concerned with not falling on her butt in front of fans). Her appearance on the reality television show is sure to be painful to watch and will elicit plenty of jokes on Twitter from everybody.
The funny debate is already raging about who will go down on record as the worst dancer — Kate Gosselin, Wendy Williams, or Nancy Grace. Since Kate Gosselin just got the news her reality show is cancelled, fans bet she will be back on DWTS as a commentator. Those who think that is likely are already wincing.

Least thrilling names announced were celebrity athlete Ron Artest, reality television star Kristin Cavallari, and Carson Kressley.
One exciting new television personality to watch on American television is Elisabetta Canalis, the most recent ex-girlfriend of actor George Clooney. An Italian swimsuit model, she is known for her work with MTV in Italy.
Kris Jenner was in the audience to support her son Rob Kardashian as he makes strides toward fame apart from the Kardashian sisters. Fans would rather have seen Bruce Jenner dance than the younger brother who parties his way through the reality TV series, but when it comes to the Kardashians, ABC will take whatever relative they can get to improve ratings.
JR Martinez was inspiring, noting that positive thinking can help you through anything. His plight is no laughing matter as an American soldier turned soap opera actor after being horribly burned in the service of his country.
Of most laughable note was actor David Arquette, ex husband to Friends actress Courtney Cox. After his famous melt-down segments live on air with the Howard Stern show confessing intimate details of his affairs with other women, everyone in Hollywood hoped the D-listed star would go away. However, he now claims he is on DWTS because he loved being an entertainer.
Funny, the most entertaining thing about his appearing on Dancing With The Stars is how much fans from Gen X can’t wait to get rid of him. Let’s hope all generation of voters help eliminate him in the first round the David Hasselhoff way.
Fortunately for viewers, Snooki from the Jersey Shore will not be making an appearance as a competitor this season. She told MTV cameras she would consider doing the show after claiming The Situation made a big career mistake to compete on the programs.
