Nashville is a transient music city fully of musical acts that come and go like a karma chameleon. Well, Nashville is about to get hit with a new musical act that will keep their heads spinning for years to come. She’s lyrically genius, humbly talented, and knows her way around a makeup bag. I recently listened to her new EP available on iTunes titled Fine Line, and had the opportunity to talk with her about her album. Thanks to the wonders of Facebook she even let me know how she created such a beautiful, natural makeup look on her album cover.
Today in the world of album art, people seem to believe that more is more is more. There is something to be said for understated beauty and letting a picture speak for itself: Miss Batchelor is one of the lucky few that allows less to be more.
To recreate the look, Heather graciously told me what she used, and I did a little detective work to let you know how to apply it all. And here’s the kicker, it’s all available at the links provided below!
Athens Shimmering Eyeshadow in “Gold, No. 25” and “Golden Brown, No. 28”, and apply the lighter shade to cover your entire eyelid to your brow bone. Next, blend the darker shade on the outside corner of your eye and upwards to form a sideways “V” up into your eyelid crease. Blend a little bit of the darker shade into the lower lash line, but don’t overdo it! No one wants to listen to a raccoon!
ULTA Automatic Eyeliner in “Indigo”: smudge this eyeliner into the outside corners of your eyelids to make your eyelashes look amazing. Rim your lower eyelids with a thin line of color, but just be precise. Again, watch out for raccoon infestations around the eyes.
Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara in “Black/Brown” helps to make your eyelashes look extremely long without making them feel heavy or overdone.
Tarina Tarantino’s “Dollskin Cheek” is a great shade to use with Heather’s coloring, and for those with light skin/light eyes, this is a great shade to use for everyday wear, or even a special event—it’s all in quantity. To get Heather’s look, just use a little (little, little, little) amount sweeping the apples of your cheeks and slightly upwards towards your temples.
Garnier Nutritioniste’s “Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Roller” helps to reduce puffiness—I would know. I use it too.
Neutrogena Naturals Lip Balm (as base) and Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick “Amsterdam”: Heather just uses a natural lip balm and a lipstick in the shade of her natural lip color in order to enhance what she’s been naturally given. Take a tip from her: when you use a lipstick that already matches or slightly tints your natural lip color, it helps to plump and contour your lips without any need for fillers. It’s a great and simple tip for a leg up for any night on the town. And it’s easy to reapply!
This look is great for everyday wear, and can easily be dressed up for nighttime. Also, any brand that you cannot find in a store in the Nashville area easily has a drugstore equivalent! Just contact me using the information provided here, and I’m more than happy to help out. Overall, I would say that my interview was an amazing opportunity to check out an artist that’s gonna hit Nashville like a hurricane! A hurricane with great makeup!
