Are you six foot tall or better, and average to good looking
with an athletic or swimmer’s build ? Then you should
definitely consider modeling. It is a fascinating artform, based
in subtlety, emotion, expression, angles, style and attitude.
You’ll meet awesome people and end up in “interesting”
situations : ) Backstage never hurts ; ) You may want to put
together a portfolio of whatever best photos you have
available, if you don’t have one, don’t worry; you may be able
to make it on your looks alone. High Fashion Modeling
Agencies in Seattle include TCM Models & Talent,
Heffner Mngmt. & Seatte Model’s Guild.
They have open casting calls on weekdays,
visit their websites for more details.
Not six foot tall ?
Don’t fret, there are two types of Model Agencies,
“High Fashion” which have stricter physical requirements,
and “Commercial” which embrace more “Everyday” features.
If you have failed to be picked up by any of the high fashion
agencies, try some commercial ones in the greater Seattle
including Dramatic Artists, Colleen Bell Agency &
Kim Brooke Group.
* You’ll want to make sure the Agency you are applying for
is in fact an Agency, and not a Modeling School / Agency
(As these will generally require classes at your expen$e).
Agencies can plug you into the industry almost immediately.
* I shy away from any Agency asking for money, however if
you talk to some Models already on the roster, and they
seem satisfied, perhaps it may be a good investment.
* Ladies, if you are 5′ 8″ & Striking,
Shop around to different agencies, and find one that feels like a good fit for you : )
* You may have to promote yourself to many agencies before being picked up. Good Luck.
